Initiatives to Improve the Quality of Undergraduate Engineering Education

Several initiatives are underway to improve the quality of undergraduate engineering education. Some are part of the NSF’s Revolutionizing Engineering Departments program. Other projects are focused on incorporating engineering materials and active learning methods into the curriculum, improving design instruction, and introducing capgeek students to professional skills and a sense of professional practice. The move is a step toward the company’s mission to help students graduate from college with little or no student loan debt. Education at Work works with a number of major employers to find students who have a variety of skills that employers look for.
Education at Work is available to all employees and provides tax-free tuition assistance. To qualify, employees must meet certain similarnet qualifications and demonstrate a successful history in school or work. Employees must be in good standing with their companies and work a minimum number of hours per week to qualify. In addition, their academic performance and enrollment status at a school are measured.
